2023 Year in Review

As another year comes to a close, we are looking back at all that has been achieved, experienced and created at Aritco in 2023. This year, we saw a continued trend towards futureproofing homes not only for older generations but for athletes, young families and multigenerational households wanting to ensure access and mobility for years to come.

Sustainability continues to be a crucial focus within the industry, and Aritco remains dedicated to pioneering the integration of sustainability, design, and functionality in every product we develop.

While we look forward to what 2024 will bring, we invite you to join us in looking back at some of the highlights of 2023.

This year saw Aritco participating in a number of events and exhibitions around the world. Providing the chance for people to not only see our lifts but experience them in action is always a gratifying experience. And we relish the opportunity to discuss important topics such as sustainability with other leaders and stakeholders across industries. This was especially true this year in China, where many in-person events were back for the first time since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Stockholm Design Week

Scandinavian design drives the aesthetics of all our lifts, so we love reconnecting with our roots in this always-inspiring weeklong exhibition that takes place in spaces around the Swedish capital. This year, Aritco hosted a panel discussion on futureproofing the built environment, expanding on the findings of our research paper The 100-Year Home.

Design Shenzhen

We were honored to participate in the inaugural edition of Design Shenzhen, an extension of Design Shanghai, showcasing international brands in one of China’s key economic centers. The theme for this first edition was Regenerative Design – Design for Wellbeing: Humanity, Sustainability, Technology, exploring both human and environmental wellbeing, and we were excited to take part in the exchange of ideas that took place during the event.

Casa Decor

This was Aritco’s second time participating in the experiential exhibition Casa Decor in Madrid, Spain, which brings together art, architecture and design. For the first time, Aritco hosted its own space in the exhibition, which took place in an iconic building in the heart of Madrid’s Golden Mile. The Zaguán de Aritco (Aritco Hall) showcased our Aritco HomeLift, featuring the Geometric DesignWall, in a stunning entryway created in partnership with interior design firm AS Interiorista.

Design Shanghai

This year was particularly exciting in the APEC market with the first Design Shanghai exhibition since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year also marked the event’s 10th edition, a fitting moment for Aritco to debut the Aritco HomeLift Compact in Asia for the first time since it launched late last year. Aritco also hosted two panel discussions with leading Chinese architects, designers and builders to discuss how to future-proof buildings with a focus on sustainability.

Sustainable Design Summit China

We rounded off the year with the Sustainable Design Summit China in Beijing. With a focus on innovation and collaboration, this event examined the present and future of the industry through the lens of sustainability. Aritco exhibited at the summit again this year. However, we were also proud to participate in the panel “Towards a Greener Future” to discuss advanced concepts around building sustainable buildings and creating sustainable businesses.

SmartLift App

In 2023, we released our improved SmartLift App with enhanced functionality allowing lift owners to configure, customize and monitor their lifts right from their smartphones. With features such as maintenance and status alerts, child and floor locks, usage statistics and service indicators, the new SmartLift App brings our home lifts into the digital age.

Two New Design Walls

Our series of DesignWalls, created especially for Aritco by leading Scandinavian designers, are one of the many details that make our home lifts unique. This year, we were excited to announce two new design walls created by the talented Evelina Kroon. Building on the popularity of her first DesignWall Geometric Classic – released in 2022 in collaboration with designer Alexander Lervik – Kroon has created Geometric Pink and Geometric Blue, bringing our total offering of DesignWalls to 11.

As we look back at all we’ve gained over the past year – opportunities to learn, collaborate, innovate, connect and create – we also wanted to highlight the importance of giving back. Each year, Aritco donates Solvatten water purification devices to families in need. Realizing a long-time goal, postponed as many things were by the pandemic, we were finally able to send two team members to Uganda this November to see firsthand how these donations are changing lives. Their shared stories and learnings have provided all of us at Aritco with an added sense of gratitude, determination and hope as we enter the new year.
