With Aritco’s first Spanish office and showroom now open in Madrid, and a successful September participation at Design Week Marbella in the rearview mirror, Jesús Arévalo, Managing Director for Aritco in Spain, shares some of his thoughts.
Madrid Showroom Sets the Stage for Aritco Entrance
As Aritco looks to establish itself in Spain, we catch up with Managing Director of Aritco Spain Jesús Arévalo for a quick chat about the present and the future
¡Bienvenidos a España!
Hola, Jesús! Tell us a bit about who you are and what you do!
“After nine years in the lift industry, I was very happy to become part of the Aritco family in July” (2021) Jesús says and continues, “It is a company that I had followed for a long time with a spectacular product and a clear purpose to improve people’s lives.”
“So far I have been focused on getting ready our showroom in Madrid as well as building a team of professional people committed to the vision of our brand. We recently had our grand opening of the showroom and participated at Design Week Marbella. As for the team, we currently have a great commercial and technical team, which provide support and help to our constantly growing network of Aritco partners.”
How would you describe the Spanish market for public and home lifts?
“For public lifts, it is a very competitive market that has a few big players who mainly focus on hydraulic technology. Our challenge here will be to communicate to installation companies the benefits with the Aritco products. Installation is easier and one of the fastest in the industry while at the same time offering superior Scandinavian design and quality.”
“As for the home segment, it will be growing very fast. 40% of the Spanish population is age 50 or older, and many of them have houses that they will not want to leave as they age further. The hydraulic solutions are seen as old technology and professionals such as architects and builders are increasingly looking for elevators that are easy to install, have a beautiful design, and are energy efficient.”
HOW DID THE MADRID OPENING GO AND HOW DO YOU SEE THE SHOWROOM CONTRIBUTING?
“It was certainly a big success, and the attendance exceeded all our expectations. There were more than 120 people in attendance. Service companies, architects, interior designers, reporters, and lift installation companies that are looking for new solutions to add to their portfolios and couldn’t wait for us to open. Even soccer legend Vicente del Bosque showed up!”
“The response was very good. Visitors were impressed both by the product and the showroom itself. It was important for us to not just be another showroom, but to properly give visitors a feeling of the Aritco world. Scandinavian design, innovation and quality.”
You can virtually visit the showroom here.
“I think our Madrid showroom will be very popular within the industry as no other company has anything like it” Jesús continues. “It is a paradigm shift when it comes to presenting a lift manufacturer and we believe that the world of Aritco will continue to impress a lot of people.”
How about the Marbella exhibition?
“Also there, we had a great reception. Design Week Marbella is an established exhibition with well-known companies participating, but still we heard from many that the Aritco HomeLift we presented there was the most impressive part of the show.”
“What was really great for us was the quality of the visitors. Architects, home builders from the area, and various potential partners for us were in attendance. We established many contacts that could be helpful moving forward.”
“We are definitely planning to return next year!”
What are your expectations for Aritco in Spain?
“We have a unique product as well as a lift for every situation, both for home and public use. I think that Spain will be one of Aritco’s main European markets in the years to come and that we will grow faster than anticipated.”
“We have barely started executing on our marketing and communication strategy, yet we already have multiple orders for home lifts as well as a number of installation companies knocking on our door every week.”
“Aritco’s Spanish journey will be interesting, for sure!” Jesús concludes
