“In a screw and nut-driven lift, there is a steel screw mounted on the top of the lift shaft that runs down the length of the shaft. On the L-shaped platform – behind the platform wall –  an electric motor drives a bronze nut, which winds up and down the screw, moving the platform up and down. The incline on the screw can vary, and Aritco uses different inclinations on different lift models in our portfolio.”

“Originally, the screw and nut technology was developed for an accessibility lift introduced to the market in the 90s. This was a cost-effective solution which allowed lifts to be installed in an easy way in existing buildings. Aritco has developed the screw and nut technology, making it even smoother with a higher incline on the screw. There are other lift manufacturers that use similar technology for public and commercial lifts as well as for home lifts. However, Aritco HomeLifts use a higher incline on the screw to give maximum comfort when using and experiencing the lift.”

“With the screw and nut technology, Aritco designs lifts with a very efficient footprint. The additional space required outside the platform is minimal. We can provide lifts with platforms fulfilling all requirements from a very small footprint up to sizes where wheelchairs and other appliances would fit. It is important to remember that the space required for a platform lift is significantly smaller than for other lift technologies.
