Six years ago, the Arpa family in Spain received life-altering news: their two-year-old son, Mateo, was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease that would limit his mobility. Despite the challenges, the family remained determined to live a rich, full life, with an even deeper appreciation for the gift of family. Eventually , they decided to move to a larger house, but going up and down stairs would be extremely difficult and tiring for Mateo. They wanted to ensure he would have the freedom to fully enjoy their new family home.
The lift
Initially, the family considered a chair lift, but quickly reconsidered due to its clunky and uncomfortable design, which wouldn’t afford their son the complete independence they desired. They also wanted a solution that would blend with their interior and fit within their budget. Their search eventually led them to Aritco Spain, where they learned about the various HomeLift models and decided that the Aritco HomeLift Compact would be the perfect solution. Thanks to the efforts of the local installation team, their new lift was up and running within just five days.
The result
The family was thrilled to see that the lift matched perfectly with the rest of the house. When guests come to visit, they are shocked to realize what they thought was just a stylish display case is, in fact, a functioning lift. While the lift is mostly used by Mateo, it also comes in handy when other family members need to carry heavy items up or down the stairs, and when elderly relatives come to visit. “Of course, I would recommend it, not just for the design, but for the quality-price ratio and the professionals behind it,” says Mateo’s mother, Sheila. “We are a humble family who managed to have design and quality at a fairly affordable price.”
