Aritco has launched a new SmartLift app with enhanced functionality, bringing our line of home lifts into the digital age. The app – now available on all home lift models – allows homeowners to configure, customize and monitor their lifts right from their smartphones. We spoke with Linus Nyman, Product Manager for Aritco SmartLift to learn about the benefits of this new app and the motivation behind its creation.

New Aritco SmartLift app includes a suite of new features allowing users to control and monitor their home lift right from their smartphone.
What was the number one goal when creating the new Aritco SmartLift app?
“As we look at the world around us, more and more things are being ‘connected’. Our primary driver in creating the SmartLift ecosystem was to capitalize on the latest technology to give better service to our customers,” Linus says.
“By knowing the state of the product in the field, we can better understand how our lifts are being used, figure out any potential problems, and be more proactive towards our customers. And by providing up-to-date information about the health of their lift as well as control over certain features in the mobile app, I hope our customers feel at ease and in control.”
How did your team ensure the app would be user-friendly even to those who aren’t “tech-savvy”?
“We have tried to create a “clean” interface, using icons and colors as indicators to make it as intuitive as possible. Where we felt there was a possibility for confusion, we included information texts to explain the functionality,” he explains.
“For example, the app features a countdown until the next service date, which is decided by our service partners. The icon, a maintenance man, will be green with a thumbs up until the date is getting closer. And then he’s going to turn yellow, holding a clock, and say ‘Service Soon’. Then, if maintenance is not performed, they’ll see a red serviceman – tools in hand – saying ‘Your Lift Needs Service!’ and a message to contact their Aritco service provider.”
How does the SmartLift app help futureproof Aritco home lifts?
“The SmartLift ecosystem makes it possible for us to improve our products over their lifetime. Even after the lift is shipped, we can still make improvements and add new features by simply updating the software. This means we can continuously update and upgrade the user experience of having an Aritco lift.”
Features in the new Aritco SmartLift app
Lift Status and Maintenance Alerts: A safety check based on various parameters alerts users to the current status and health of their lift using a green, yellow, and red warning system. This system alerts of any critical operational issues as well as lets lift owners stay on top of regular maintenance needs (such as oil levels) to avoid malfunctions.
Child and Floor Lock: These safety features allow users to make the lift non-operational for a specified amount of time or block access to a specific floor (such as home office, wine cellar or storage space). A scheduling function allows users to create a daily/weekly schedule in advance, and locks can be activated or overridden remotely.
Usage Statistics and Service Indicator: The usage graph gives real-time data and allows users to track usage over time. The service indicator provides a countdown to recommended service dates, also using a green, yellow and red alert system. Aritco partners can customize the service intervals to offer customers more dynamic service agreements.
Light and Speed Configuration: The light configuration feature is only available for the Artico HomeLift model, which features our exclusive DesignLights. Users can easily configure the color, brightness, and duration of their home lift’s lighting to suit their mood. Speed controls are also available in select markets (not available in EU or UK).
