Simple and modern in Shanghai

With five floors in her villa in Shanghai’s Pudong district, Cao Peili knew a lift was a necessity for herself and her family. The beauty of her Aritco lift came as a pleasant surprise.

She says uses the lift all day long for ups and downs. “If we didn’t have this lift in our house, it would be so difficult for me to go up and down stairs every day, especially when doing household chores.” she remarks. “With the lift, I can easily take my cleaning tools from the basement to the top floor easily and quickly. If I still had to take the stairs during my cleaning, I would be so exhausted.”

Cao Peili also loves flowers and can move large flower arrangements up and down in a cart in her lift without worrying about spilling water anywhere.

She says her favorite feature is the control button, which resembles a control knob on a high-end stereo system: “It’s beautiful, fashionable and easy to use.”

One of her concerns when in the early stages of decorating her house was whether the lift would match the style of the house. But she needn’t have worried. With three sides made of glass and a white, illuminated back wall, the lift adds an element of drama to her all-white, two-story front hall.

“I was pleasantly surprised after the installation. The lift looks very simple in a modern way also gives you a science and technology feeling,” she says. “It does match our house perfectly and goes really well with our Chinese-style decorations. It’s really beautiful.”
