The opportunity
While an Olympic champion may be different from the typical customer for elevators, TKS Heis received a request from an elite biathlete who was in the process of designing a new three-story house in Kongsvinger. The client, world cup winner Johannes Thingnes Bø with a vision for his new home to be superior in design and practical for all life stages, got introduced by his architect to the idea of having a lift in their home; subsequently, the family began investigating installing a villa elevator.
The lift
With long-time knowledge of platform elevators, TKS Heis was well prepared to present a solution to Johannes Thingnes Bø’s housing requests. As a villa elevator is an ideal way to make a house more functional, TKS Heis provided an offer from Aritco’s assortment that harmonized with the distinctive interior style and futureproofing the mobility in the three-story home’s usage.
The result
A home lift installed into the multilevel house proved to be successful for the owners. They could now offer inclusiveness and accessibility for their friends and family, regardless of age or if they were in a wheelchair. Even Johannes has frequently used the elevator in his daily life. His training room in the basement also evolved a need to use the lift as his intense training sessions made it difficult to use the stairs afterward for the upper-story shower.
The lift’s design and functionality were crucial for Johannes’ dream house, and the installation of an Aritco seamlessly matched the residence’s specific concrete and walnut interior aesthetics.
